    The western edge of Lake Balaton – because of its central location – can be approached easily. You can reach us:

    BY CAR …

    From Western Europe
    From the direction of Linz/Vienna: You turn off the Motorway A1 towards Eisenstadt on the Motor-road A3 and you cross the border in Sopron (Klingenbach). From here there is a high-way leading through Ukk and Sümeg to Lake Balaton or more precisely to Balatonederics. lf you take Road 71 westwards you can reach Keszthely within a short time. Drive through Gyenesdiás and at the roundabout (at the McDonald’s) turn left, well into the direction of Balaton, at the first corner turn left, and then to right and you are already in the Vörösmarty street.
    From Graz: If you turn off the Motorway A2 towards Fürstenfeld you can cross the border in Heiligenkreuz (Rábafüzes). Lake Balaton from here is about 1oo kms. Through Körmend (Road 8) and Zalaegerszeg on the Road 76 the journey by car takes maximum one and a half hours. Drive through Keszthely and as you reach Gyenesdiás, at the roundabout (at the McDonald’s) turn right into the direction of Balaton, at the first corner turn left, and then to right and you are already in the Vörösmarty street.

    From Southern Europe
    From Slovenia: from Lendava/Lenti you can reach the West-Balaton Region on Road 75 from Croatia on the E71 towards Balatonszentgyörgy. For those who are coming from Italy we can suggest the road leading through Tarvisio and Graz.

    From Northern Europe
    From Poland: Through Budapest on the Motorway M7 towards Lake Balaton. Drive through Gyenesdiás and at the roundabout (at the McDonald’s) turn left, well into the direction of Balaton, at the first corner turn left, and then to right and you are already in the Vörösmarty street.
    -From Slovakia: You can come either through Budapest and after on the M7 or from Pozsony on the Road E65 through the frontier station of Rajka and then through Mosonmagyarovár on Road 86, then you take Road 84 towards Ukk/Sümeg to the direction of Lake Balaton.

    From Inland
    From Budapest on the M7 towards Lake Balaton you come on the southern shore on Highway 7 (E71) to Balatonszentgyörgy, in Fenékpuszta you have to choose Road 71 (turn right after the Zala Bridge) and you will arrive in Keszthely, the capital of Lake Balaton.

    BY TRAIN …
    The region can be reached from many European big cities.

    Within Hungary there are direct trains from Budapest (Keleti and Déli station) and from Győr.

    BY BUS …

    From abroad you can travel to Budapest and Győr directly. These cities are well-connected to our region.

    BY AIR…

    Close to Keszthely, about 17 km can be found the Hévíz-Balaton Airport in Sármellék. The airport receives charter aeroplanes. For flight schedule visit www.hevizairport.com Travelling by aeroplane has become easier, the cheap airline companies are also present in Budapest, the Terminal is one of the best located airports in Europe, which is used by all type of airline companies.
